Gaga/people + Impro Workshop by Alejandra Jara
The workshop consist of two parts: Gaga/people class and Improvisation
GAGA, movement language created by Ohah Naharin, choreographer, and artistic director of Batsheva company. Gaga is a new way of gaining knowledge and self-awareness through your body. Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening your body and adding flexibility, stamina, and agility while lightening the senses and imagination. Gaga raises awareness of physical weaknesses, awakens numb areas, exposes physical fixations, and offers ways for their elimination. The work improves instinctive movement and connects conscious and unconscious movement, and it allows for an experience of freedom and pleasure in a simple way, in a pleasant space. The Gaga class will be followed by improvisation and composition workshop. During the research we are going to go deeper into specific elements of the Gaga language and the use of imaginary to create textures in our bodies. The listening of our bodies will be the key to allow ourselves to let things happen to us. The work will be individual, in duos and even with the whole group. This workshop is great for dancers and non dancers.
